Weight: 142.0 lbs at 26w1d, about the same as last week.

Sleep: I'm still sleeping ok, still taking Unisom at night. I get up several times to pee and wake up hot in the middle of the night.
Cravings/Aversions: Craving those little mandarin oranges and fruits. Periodic cravings for sugar cookies, but can't eat anything too sugary.
Workouts: No workouts, still too nauseous.
Doctor Visits: no doctor visits this week.

25 weeks

profile at 25w6d, you can see her hand by her mouth

Weight: 142.0 lb at 25w, although a few days later my weight lowered. No bump pics this week, we don't have any full length mirrors in our new place so bump pics are harder to get.
Symptoms: still nausea, I've been slowly trying to wean myself off of the zofran. Currently I'm at half the dose I had been taking previously. I'm also getting some upper back aches and tailbone/sciatica pain. Normal things make me very tired, I don't have as much energy as I used to.
Sleep: Getting more and more restless throughout the night. Still taking half a Unisom for nausea, so that does help me fall asleep. Trying to get at least 9 hours a night or I feel like death the next day.
Cravings/Aversions: Still just craving lots and lots of fruit. Aversions to some foods too, most food just sounds nauseating.
Workouts: No workouts, still too nauseous.
Doctor Visits: We saw the midwife at 25w6d. Everything is perfect, measuring dead on and no concerns from the midwife.

Cravings/Aversions: still craving lots of fresh fruit, vanilla ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies and Subway sandwiches or turkey/bacon/avocado sandwiches (neither which I can eat)
Workouts: was moving considered working out?
Doctor Visits: no doctor visits

23 weeks

23 weeks 3 days

This week has been crazy. We moved from one side of the island to the other with very little help. Poor George did most of the moving, all while in his final weeks of his last semester in college. With all the craziness, I didn't really have time to track my symptoms and weight (scale was packed already). Basically, all week I've been tired, sore and nauseous. Moving while pregnant is NOT fun! No doctor visits this week, but I did call the doctor once because I got stung by a wasp.

gift from my bff casey

22 weeks, 5 days

hawaiian shave ice on the beach, 22 weeks 6 days

Weight: 134.8 lbs, still gaining!
Symptoms: Some nausea, no vomiting. I'm still taking 1/2 a zofran twice daily as well as B6 in the mornings and 1/2 a Unisom at night. This has kept the vomiting away and helped the nausea. Lots and lots of stretching and growing pains, lots of tailbone pain as well. She is always sitting on my right side so I tend to feel a lot more discomfort on that side. I also have to pee all the time. I think she's using my bladder as a trampoline!
Sleep: Still sleeping good, but I'm starting to toss and turn a lot more than before.
Cravings/Aversions: Cravings lots of fresh fruit and the occasional food that reminds me of growing up. This week I was craving chicken and wild rice soup like my mom used to make. Still have lots of aversions to most foods
Workouts: None, just lots of packing to prep for our move.
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits this week

21 weeks

21 weeks, 1 day

Weight: 133.4 lbs, still gaining steadily!
Symptoms: Nausea, stretching, feeling full. This week I had a nasty cold/cough that George brought back with him. I had a really stuffy nose, swollen sinuses and a gross cough. I was able to fight it off but had a vomiting episode from so much phlegm.
Sleep: Sleep was not the best this week thanks to the cold. It was hard to breathe and the constant coughing kept me up at night.
Cravings/Aversions: Still just craving apples! Still some food aversions and no strong cravings except fruit.
Workouts: None!
Doctor Visits: I had my follow up to the anatomy scan with my midwife at 21w5d. George was able to come to that and meet the midwife finally. He loved her! All the results from the anatomy scan were normal and good. No issues at all with baby's growth or my body. Great news! Since George hadn't heard the heartbeat yet, the midwife let him listen to it. She also did another ultrasound so we could look at baby again. Baby was squirmy as usual, sucking its thumb, chewing and rubbing its eyes while we watched. So neat to see so much detail while baby is still cooking!

20 weeks

20 weeks

20 weeks, 2 days

Weight: 132.4 lbs still gaining, finally!!
Symptoms: nausea, stretching, weird pounding heart
Sleep: sleep is still good
Cravings/Aversions: craving apples and fruit, that's about it! Still aversions to most foods
Workouts: none, still not feeling good!
Doctor Visits: at 20 weeks I took another trip to the ER. I was having symptoms of high blood pressure along with some upper body pain and an erratic heart rate. At the ER my blood pressure and EKG came back normal, even though my heart rate was really high. Basically they told me they have no idea what was wrong, but it wasn't anything horrible. At 20w5d we went for the anatomy scan. An hour long ultrasound where they take measurements of everything and we also found out the sex. As soon as we are able to tell the girls, we will announce the sex of baby! Baby was crazy active the entire ultrasound, it was really hard for the tech to get good images because baby wouldn't sit still. She said it was one of the most active babies she'd seen! Next week we have the follow up with the midwife.

19 weeks

19w2d

19w3d Halloween, white trash pregnant lady (no, I didn't actually drink lol)

Weight: 129.8 lbs, still going up but not quite back to my pre pregnancy weight
Symptoms: Still some nausea, but no vomiting most of the week. I had a decent vomit free streak until 19w5d when I vomited again. Then I started with some new symptoms that felt like high blood pressure and an erratic heart rate. Also lots of growing pains
Sleep: Sleep has been ok, but I've been waking up early and have trouble going back to sleep. I also was kept awake all night at 19w6d due to throbbing pain in my upper body and nausea
Cravings/Aversions: Starting to have some cravings, but took a huge step back and have been so sick that I have aversions to eating anything.
Workouts: No workouts, still too sick
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits

18 weeks

18 weeks 2 days

sporting my mom's hawaii shirt from the 80s 18w4d

my halloween tank! 18w6d

after yoga, 18 weeks 6 days

Weight: At 18w1d my weight was 127.4lbs, so my weight is still going up, but still below my pre-pregnancy weight
Symptoms: Still nauseous most of the time, but I have not vomited all week which is the best I've done this entire pregnancy! I'm taking 1/2 a Zofran a day and that seems to be keeping the nausea at bay. Still taking the Unisom and B6, but adding the Zofran seemed to be the magical drug cocktail. I'm also starting to feel some stretching pains and what feel like period aches. Headaches are getting better, still a slight headache in the morning, but it goes away easily and without medication.
Sleep: Sleep is good, I am sleeping in pretty late in each day. I wake up a few times to go pee, but am able to fall back asleep pretty easily.
Cravings/Aversions: No real cravings, some foods are starting to sound good, but not all the time. I noticed a slight increase in appetite, but am unable to eat a lot at once and most foods still turn my stomach. I still have an aversion to meat but was able to eat roasted turkey breast this week. One craving I've been having is apples, crunchy sweet apples! I eat one a day :)
Workouts: I did yoga at 18w6d but had to sit out for most of the poses because I was getting dizzy and lightheaded.
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits this week

17 weeks

17 weeks, 6 days

Weight: I totally forgot to take my weight when I hit 17 weeks. I checked it a few days later and it was the same as last week. Hopefully at 18 weeks I'll have gained some.
Symptoms: Still mostly nausea and some vomiting. I have been taking half of a low dose of Zofran each day and that has been helping. Feeling lots of kicks and they're strong enough that I can see some from the outside. I caught one on video for George to watch. Some headaches still, but they fade away on their own. A little intestinal congestion thanks to Zofran, but it's better than vomiting and feeling sick 24/7! I am noticing a lot more stretching and growing pains, nothing bad, but I do need to be careful to not move too quickly when getting up from the couch.
Sleep: Sleep is still good, I'm still taking the Unisom. Starting to wake up earlier and am unable to go back to sleep, but sleeping through the night with the exception of getting up to pee.
Cravings/Aversions: Still have no real cravings and food is there to fuel my body and that's it. I used to love eating and enjoyed food, but not so much anymore.
Workouts: No workouts, the nausea is just too much. Moving around makes it worse
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits this week

16 weeks

16 weeks, 3 days

The weekly picture collage of the 4 belly shots has become time consuming and tiring. Until George gets back, it's just going to be random iPhone belly shots!

Weight: 125.8 lbs I've started gaining slightly, which is a great sign! Still below my pre pregnancy weight
Symptoms: Still mostly nausea and some vomiting. I've started taking the Zofran and it has helped lessen the nausea and vomiting. I've had a couple headaches and some stretching pains as well. Still mostly nausea that bothers me!
Sleep: Sleep is still good, I'm still taking the Unisom.
Cravings/Aversions: Still not into food all that much. I can eat more foods now, but I still have to be really careful.
Workouts: No workouts, the nausea is just too much. Moving around makes it worse
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits this week

15 weeks

I posted last week's update a little late, this past week I've actually been pretty busy with my business and life in general. But here it is... my 15 weeks update!

15 weeks

ultrasound from my midwife visit at 15w6d and yes, baby looks like an alien in the last one lol

swim suit bump at 15w1d

Weight: 125.0 lbs, up from last week but still less than my pre pregnancy weight. According to the doctor's scale, I've only gained 0.2lbs in the last 5 weeks.
Symptoms: I started to have some good days, but then the bad days came back in. Still lots of nausea, 2 days of vomiting. Headaches are starting to appear and I'm also having some stretching aches. Again, any other symptoms I'm having are unnoticeable compared to the nausea.
Sleep: Still sleeping ok, thanks to Unisom. I get up several times a night to use the bathroom and am slightly restless in the early morning, but still sleeping relatively well.
Cravings/aversions: No real cravings, fruit does sound good. Still lots of aversions which impedes being able to eat well.
Workouts: I did get one yoga session in towards the end of the week. I could only participate for about half of the class, some of the moves had me getting really dizzy and nauseous, almost like motion sickness.
Doctor Visits: I had my first visit with my new provider at 15w6d. I am now a patient at the OBGYN department instead of just family practice. I am seeing a nurse midwife which is exactly what I wanted! She was amazing too. Very talkative and sweet and I did not feel rushed at all. She also did an ultrasound and baby was SUPER active. At first he/she was literally using my bladder as a trampoline, so funny to watch! It was hard to get any good pictures because baby was flipping around and kicking and just being a little ninja in general! I was able to see the heart beating on the ultrasound, but she couldn't get a heart rate using the ultrasound because the baby kept moving. She did get one using the doppler and it was strong and 160bpm. I also got the results of the only genetic test I chose to take, which was the Cystic Fibrosis test, and I am happy to say that I am not a carrier which was good news. The midwife prescribed me Zofran to take on an "as needed" basis because my weight is still low and I'm still experiencing so much nausea and vomiting.

14 weeks

14 weeks

Weight: 124.4, lost weight this week due to horrible nausea and vomiting all week. I am still below my pre-pregnancy weight. Hopefully I will start gaining here soon.
Symptoms: Nausea and vomiting. I have a few other light symptoms but they all pale in comparison to the nausea. This week was the worst for nausea by far. By 14w6d my nausea had started to lessen. I also have had a few headaches and stretching pains.
Sleep: Sleep is good, which I still attribute to Unisom. I get up a few times a night to go to the bathroom and drink water, I get so thirsty in the middle of the night! I also toss and turn a little in the early mornings and need to eat almonds to settle my stomach and go back to sleep.
Cravings/Aversions: Still no cravings, aversions to everything.
Workouts: Can't even think about working out right now! Just getting up and walking around makes me nauseous!!
Doctor Visits: No doctor visits this week

13 weeks

13 weeks

Weight: 125.4 It seems as though my weight is finally starting to go up (which is a good thing). Most of this pregnancy I have been losing and am still below my pre pregnancy weight.
Symptoms: My stand out symptoms has been and still is nausea and vomiting. I vomited a few days into the week, but seemed to be improving towards the middle of the week. I decided to stop taking the Unisom for nausea since I was feeling better (and on the cusp of the second trimester) which ended up being a huge mistake. At 13w4d, the day after I stopped taking Unisom, I was extremely sick. Vomiting all day, extreme nausea and unable to hold down liquids and it landed me in the ER. I started right back on Unisom and the rest of the week was vomit free, but still debilitating nausea. I also had a headache one of the days.
Sleep: Sleep is ok, even with the Unisom. The nausea is starting to wake me up in the middle of the night. I'm not napping as much either because the nausea seems to get worse after a nap.
Cravings/Aversions: Craving fruit, but nothing else. I have aversions to everything. Nothing sounds good and eating most food makes me gag. It seems the only thing that doesn't make me gag is Altoids.
Workouts: No workouts, still not feeling up to it.
Doctor Visits: While I had no doctor visits planned, I did end up with a visit to the ER. I had been vomiting all day and was concerned about dehydration. By the end of the day the nausea was just so intense that emotionally I was a wreck and began freaking out which led to me making a trip to the ER. They checked the baby and everything was fine, but I was a mess. They diagnosed me with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (look it up, it's more than just morning sickness) and told me to continue taking the Unisom and B6. They did offer Zofran but I'm still hesitant to take it. I see my doctor in a couple weeks and if things haven't improved by then, I will talk to her about getting a prescription.

Weeks 4-12

We found out we were pregnant when I was 4 weeks, 1 day. Most of my symptoms up to that point were the same as PMS so I didn't have any clue I was pregnant. Luckily, I was talking to my friend, Becky, who convinced me to take a test and it was positive!

I documented my first few weeks of pregnancy and took weekly pictures. There were a few weeks where I felt so horrible that pictures didn't happen. There are also several times when you can see on my face how crappy I feel! The main symptom that has been really troublesome is the nausea and vomiting. It's horrible. At week 11 I started taking Unisom at night and B-6 in the mornings and it takes the edge off. Here are the details of my first few weeks, I plan to post an update each week.
